Last month, Mencap staged the hugely successful Little Noise Sessions – a series of acoustic gigs featuring some of the UK’s hottest bands.

This year was the first series of our music events and featured performances from 28 fantastic acts, including Noel Gallagher, Paolo Nutini, The Fratellis, James Morrison and Lily Allen, who all came together for Mencap!

The week would not have been possible without the dedication of Jo Whiley, our celebrity ambassador and the hard working Mencap staff behind the scenes.

As Little Noise Sessions was such a success, we are looking to the future and hope to plan many more music events to raise vital funds and awareness.

We also want to recognise the needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities in being able to come along and enjoy these events. We accept that this year, despite ensuring full wheelchair access, Mencap could have and should have done more to provide for music fans with some extra support needs and their carers. We will ensure that we do better in 2007.
